The Academy currently have vacancies for the following roles:

  • Head of Academy Coaching
  • Age Group Coach – Foundation Phase
  • Academy Goalkeeping Coaches (Multiple Roles)

Role: Head of Coaching

Bristol Rovers FC are looking to recruit a full time individual for the role of Head of Coaching to oversee the monitoring and development of the Academy’s football philosophy as well as the development of the coaching workforce in line with the Academy’s coaching philosophy. Successful applicants will report directly to the Academy Manager, and will become a prominent person within the Academy Management Team ensuring the highest level of standards are met within the coaching department in line with the EPPP

We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate an extensive working knowledge of the coaching process and development of an elite level coaching program, as well as being an excellent coach developer to support the coaching workforce. High levels of communication skills, interpersonal skills and motivational skills are essential.

Applicants will only be considered if they hold a minimum of UEFA ‘A’ Licence and the FA Youth Award, with experience of working within a full time coaching role or similar within the EPPP system. The FA Advanced Youth Award and being educated to at least degree level would be advantageous, with experience as a coach educator also desirable.

Successful applicants will undergo a screening process that will include an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure.

Role: Academy Coach Vacancy – Foundation Phase

Bristol Rovers FC are looking to recruit a part time Academy coach to work with a selected age group within the Foundation Phase of our Category 3 Licenced Academy programme. Successful applicants will report directly to the Lead Phase Coach and the Head of Coaching, and will be responsible for the delivery of the Academy coaching programme in line with the Academy philosophy.

We are looking for individuals who have excellent communication, interpersonal and motivational skills, as well as being a role-model to young players. They will be able to show that they are capable of creating and delivering innovative and engaging coaching sessions to challenge and develop the player in line with the Academy coaching syllabus, as well as demonstrating that they understand the needs of the modern young player in terms of their physical and psychological development.

The roles involve working in the evenings (Tuesday and Friday) and during Weekends (Sundays). There will also be an expectation for administrative tasks to be completed as part of the role.

Applicants will hold the UEFA ‘B’ coaching qualification (or be working towards), the FA Youth Award, as well as having demonstrable experience of working with players within the u8-u12s age range. Applicants will also need to be locally based (living within 30 minutes of the Bristol area).

Role: Academy Goalkeeping Coach Vacancies [Multiple Roles]

Bristol Rovers FC are looking to recruit part time Academy Goalkeeping Coaches to work with goalkeepers within our Category 3 Licenced Academy programme. Successful applicants will report directly to the Lead Phase Coach and the Head of Coaching, and will be responsible for the delivery of the Academy Goalkeeper coaching programme in line with the Academy philosophy.

We are looking for an individual who have excellent communication, interpersonal and motivational skills, as well as being a role-model to young players. They will be able to show that they are capable of creating and delivering innovative and engaging coaching sessions to challenge and develop the player in line with the Academy coaching syllabus, as well as demonstrating that they understand the needs of the modern young player in terms of their physical and psychological development.

The three part-time roles are split as follows:

  • PDP GK Coach: Tuesday and Thursday mornings (some flexibility on days and potentially additional sessions based on coach availability); Saturdays would be desirable but not essential
  • YDP GK Coach: Monday and Wednesday evenings; Sunday match days
  • Foundation Phase GK Coach: Tuesday and Friday evenings; Sunday match days

 

Candidates are welcome to apply for more than one vacancy with potential to fulfil a maximum of 2 roles.

Applicants should hold a minimum of UEFA ‘B’ Licence and the UEFA ‘B’ Goalkeeping Licence [or working toward if applying for the FP role], the FA Mod 3 Youth Award (desirable), and having demonstrable experience of working with players within the relevant age range (preferably within an Academy setting). Applicants will also need to be locally based (living within 45 minutes of the Bristol area).
